SUBUKIA VIEWPOINT: A JOURNEY TO EXPLORE AND RECONNECT WITH NATURE

Weekends offer a chance to pause and decide how to spend your time—traveling, touring, exploring, resting, or even cleaning. It all depends on how you plan your days. How do you usually spend your weekends? Let me know in the comments below!

For the third weekend of the year, I chose to explore the Great Rift Valley. Subukia Viewpoint, being relatively close to me, became the perfect destination. I shared my plan with my colleagues, and one of them enthusiastically said, "I'm in!" You know that feeling, right?

We agreed to visit on a Sunday evening to experience not only the breathtaking view of the Great Rift Valley but also to catch the sunset.

THE JOURNEY

The Subukia Viewpoint is located along the Nyahururu-Nakuru highway. Whether you're making a stopover or visiting it as your main destination, the view is worth the trip.

When we arrived, we found a few youths already there, enjoying the serene atmosphere. As time passed, more people joined us—some stopping briefly and others having planned their visit to this beautiful spot.

THE EXPERIENCE

We spent time taking pictures, shooting videos, and admiring the stunning landscape. From this vantage point, you can literally see Subukia spread out before you—it’s an unforgettable sight!

However, we realized we hadn’t carried any snacks. Guess who was starving? (Hint: it wasn’t just me!) Despite that, the sunset more than made up for it. The view was mesmerizing—like reconnecting with nature on a deeper level.

The best part? Capturing silhouettes
of the sunset. The atmosphere was lively, with music from passing cars blending into the peaceful scene. I even danced along to the beats—it was pure joy!

A THERAPEUTIC SUNSET

Watching the sun dip below the horizon felt like therapy. It made me forget my worries and allowed me to immerse myself in the moment. The sunset seemed to whisper a reminder: no matter how tough the day has been, it will always end. Rest and set new goals for tomorrow.

NEXT TIME, SNACKS!

I learned my lesson—next time, I'll carry snacks! Would you like to join me on my next adventure?
